Unable to Rate/Star Photos

I am using a MAC OS X 10.5.7
2 GB RAM
Photo Mechanic 4.5.3.1

For some reason, whenever I have a large folder of images, I am unable to continue rating the images after a certain number.  For example, I was sorting through a folder of 1500 images, and after getting through the first 200, I could not rate the images with stars.  Is there an easy fix for this?  Thanks in advance for your help!

Try updating to version 4.5.4 since it has a number of issues fixed after the 4.5.3.1 version was released.

I just updated to 4.5.4 but, unfortunately, I'm still experiencing trouble with the rating system.
