Slow on sorting by starrating and colorlabels

PM is slow on sorting by starrating and color labels.
600-700 pictures takes about 30 seconds to finish.
Any suggestion to improve the speed?

This happens only first time in a session, later the speed is ok.
Tested on Windows 7 and XP sp 3

There is no way to improve that initial time delay.  The metadata for each file must be read.  This takes time and is unavoidable.

Filename sort is fast because the filenames are already known.
