Browse with PM service - location to place?
« on: December 04, 2009, 02:29:39 AM »
Hello

I am uncertain which folder to place this file.

Is it the users/house/library folder set up or somewhere else.

I realize that this is very simple, but when you are uncertain it's best to ask before messing about.  Thanks...Iain

Are you running Mac OS X 10.6.x?

Just copy the BrowseWithPMService.service item to your home directory's Library/Services/ folder.  If the Services folder does not exist in your home directory's Library folder, you can just create it and then copy the BrowseWithPMService.service item.  Copying the service to your home directory's Library/Services/ folder will make the service available only to your account.  If you wish to make it available for all accounts then you can instead copy it your boot drive's Library/Services/ folder.  Create the Services folder in your boot drive's Library folder if it doesn't exist.  Then copy the service there.  Now all users will have access to the Browse with Photo Mechanic service.

HTH,

Kirk,

Perhaps an idea to create an installer app/script that does two simple things (on a Mac):
1) Put the PM application in /Applications.
2) Optionally install the correct "Browse with PM" service (based on the OS version).

Low priority of course  ;D

Cheers,

That's a good idea Hayo as it makes it very simple for us less computer techy people (like me).  But, it was easy to install after following the instructions....Iain
