Ingest - Renaming Files
« on: December 14, 2009, 02:42:04 PM »
Photo Mechanic 4.6.2.1 on Windows XP

On Ingest - I have Folder Name set to a say XYZ

When ingesting, I select Rename ingested photos as {folder}-{seqn}

It doesn't rename the files to XYZ-1.jpg, XYZ-2.jpg....   Am I doing something wrong or does {folder} only become valid after ingestion?

Also on adding simple Arial font watermark text, the text does not look as nice as Lightroom 2 with mogrify.  Is there anyway to enhance this? Is it not doing anti-aliasing or something?

The {folder} variable expands to the folder of the photo where it came from, not where it is going.  You could do your renaming as a second step after Ingest, or just type 'XYZ-{seqn}' into the Rename field when Ingesting.

I don't know.  I'd need to see an example.  Please post one.
