Modifying XMP
« on: February 10, 2010, 06:39:20 AM »
I am using 4.5 on Windows Vista 64. I have a series of photos with attached  XMP, captions, copyright, etc. but need to over write or change the copyright information for additional distrubution. Multiple fields need to be updated so a find and replace action will not work. Am I missing something obvious or can the XMP not be changed once created.

I think all you need to do is select the photos you want to edit, bring up the IPTC Stationery Pad (Ctrl+I), clear the fields, then fill in the fields you want to change, and finally click on the Apply Stationery to Selected button.

Tried that, just not doing it. Selected a single photo or batch no change.

Okay, I don't use XMP myself, but I believe what you'll have to do is go Edit | Preferences | IPTC/XMP and in the section "When writing IPTC/XMP" click on the really wide button near the bottom of that section (the one with the drop down arrow) and change your selection.
