Watermark Problems
« on: June 28, 2010, 09:04:46 AM »
Hi Kirk

Try as I might, I simply can't understand how the watermarking works, my perfectly sized watermark is constantly reduced to about 1/3 of it's size.
The mark is a PNG with transparency 78 x 350 pixels, it is impossible for PM to render correctly to that size, no matter what I try.

Any ideas............it's so frustrating and should be simple.

4.6.4 and OSX 10.5.8

Thanks

The only location that will allow you to control the scaling is the center location.  Any other location will scale it to use up the grid area you place it in (think of a tic-tac-toe grid).  If you need to put it in a corner, then you can scale your PNG file up by three in Photoshop before using it in PM.

This could be improved a bit.  I'll see what I can do.

Hi Kirk

Are you saying that I can't place the watermark across  1/2 of the image, from the lower left corner......................there is just no way to do it?
I don't understand your comment about up-scaling.........surely you are saying that will not work anyway..............?

Thanks

Correct.  There is no way to do that currently.  I am looking into making a small change to allow this sort of thing right now.

This would be excellent, even better than say fixed parts, would be to allow for a percentage of the width (e.g., 33%, 50%, 75%, 90%, etc.)

Thanks,
