Font Color change during slideshow
« on: July 24, 2010, 11:49:16 PM »
Hi,
I am getting random occurrences of the font color changing after I have selected "Caption" prior to a slide show.
Normally I use "White" and this works well for one or a few slides. If I load up with about 10-20 slides the font in the Caption below the slide jumps to a blue color.
If I stop, redo the ctrl "L", pick white then it is ok for a while ?
It has happened with prior versions. Not a serious issue but nice to have resolved.
(I use an EIZO CG241W display :ProPhoto RGB +NEF raw)
Thanks b252403

Please read the posting guidelines for this forum.  I always need to know what OS you're running and what version of Photo Mechanic you're running.  Not providing that information means I have to ask for it and that just slows down my ability to address your problem.

Thanks,

I am using Ver 4.6.5 running on Win 7 -64 Bit, Intel core duo  4gb mem.
(I use an EIZO CG241W profiled graphics monitor :setup is ProPhoto RGB +NEF raw)
I have had this occurence on previous versions also.
Everything else in P.M. functions very well ,

Are your graphics card's drivers up to date?  Unless there's some bug in PM where the data for the color for the font is getting corrupted then I'd suspect a driver compatibility issue.

Hi Kirk,
Thanks for your ongoing interest with this little issue.
The Nvida: EIZO:Win 7drivers,Bios;are all up to date.
My PM settings for caching are :Disk cache=2000mb
"reserved at least"= 100mb
"Memory cache" =3oomb
The monitor has inbuilt LUT's and color is true and stable everytime
with ability to handle a slide per second.
At best to simulate the incident, I select @100 pics at 8mb ea ,set to auto, then on the 3rd or 4th selection of same 100, the color shift on the caption text starts to shift to a deep blue, irrespective of what frame /contact/general color is selected elsewhere.
Would the "text" area have it's own little memory allowance in the code?
I would be happy to run any background test history tools if you thought we could trap it that way.
I am also happy to have this issue just logged & recorded as 'not urgent' as I suspect you would have far more serious issues to deal with,
thanks Ross
