info panel data missing
« on: August 17, 2010, 09:35:00 AM »
I'm using PM 4.5.4 with Windows XP pro with Photoshop CS4.

Files saved as .psd in Photoshop have two problems for me:
1. info does not appear (yet it can be seen in Bridge. And if I save the same file as .jpg I can see info in PM)
2. the thumbnail for the .psd file is very jagged and "crinkled" looking. All other formats are OK.

Can you help me correct this?

Thanks

Define what info it is that you are missing.

Did you save your PSD files with 'Maximize Compatibility' turned on?  If not, turn it on and resave the image.

I have saved for max compatibility.
The only info that shows up is date, time, ICC profile. All others are blank; model, SN,firmware, frame#, lens,ISO, Aperture, shutter, etc etc.

OK.  The version of Photo Mechanic you're using relies on QuickTime for rendering PSD files.  The latest versions of Photo Mechanic have their own PSD loader, but you still need to save your images with Maximize Compatibility turned on (which you're already doing).

Can you send us a sample file?  Please click on my name to the left of this message, then click on the 'personal message' link.  I will respond with upload instructions.
