Missing images after ingest via Photo Mechanic

Running: Photo Mechanic 4.5.4 on Mac OS X 10.5.8

My typical workflow:
Format all cards in camera (which i did yesterday before wedding)
Insert 4 CF cards to Lexar FW 800 4 stack reader connected to MacPro tower to FW 800 port on back
Open Photo Mechanic 4.5.4
Ingest 4 cards at once via Photo Mechanic to specified folder for client
Delete after ingesting not checked

1.  Received errors as stated below (link) on one card (Lexar 8GB)

Errors listed in detail in entirety at bottom of email

2. Checked all cards to verify images listed in finder were downloaded.  Found inconsistency on the Lexar card.  Now showed only 46 images? When initially it had downloaded 362 images (link below)

3. The images i am missing are the exact ones i received errors for (img_3146 and onward-errors listed below at bottom) 199 images!

4. As we can see here (image at link) card is almost full but not showing files.  Only 362 images downloaded of a 8GB card that is almost full.  Which now only shows 46 images.

5. Caused by Photomechanic? Use of 4 stack of Lexar FW 800 readers? Bad Lexar 8GB Card?

6.  Running Data Rescue now!

7. Images recovered

Gustavo,

5. Caused by Photomechanic? Use of 4 stack of Lexar FW 800 readers? Bad Lexar 8GB Card?

PM doesn't modify the images on your card during Ingest, so I doubt that PM could cause any problems.  It would have been interesting to know if the Finder could have copied all of the images off of the card successfully.  I'd suspect that your card is going bad if I had to make a guess.  They do have a finite lifetime.

I suggest formatting the card in the camera again.  Then see if the Finder shows it as empty.
