PM 4.6.6

Windows vista home premium service pack 1

My question is regarding the size of folders PM can handle

I have a large folder containing 50,000 or so jpeg files and PM seems to struggle with displaying this folder

PM often becomes unresponsive

I have had particular problems performing a search on this folder, each time I try PM becomes unresponsive

Any thoughts?

PM is not designed to operate on a single folder containing fifty thousand photos.  In order to perform a Find operation, PM will have to consult each and every file for its metadata during the process.  As you can imagine doing this for each of 50,000 photos will indeed take some time.

Is there a reason you have 50,000 photos all grouped together?  Perhaps a better organizational structure is in order.
