Remote upload to new Gallery3 albums

The popular web gallery application Gallery2 has been updated to Gallery3.

It seems to have a new, different and supposedly improved way of letting desktop applications interact with it remotely:

I certainly could not get it to work with the Gallery2 upload settings in Photo Mechanic. But I never tried with Gallery2, so it could be my error.

Could someone confirm if the Gallery2 upload settings no longer work with Gallery3?

Does the remedy require Camerabits to rewrite the upload module to match Gallery3?

Hmm, no replies... Can I 'bump' this topic again? Does anyone know if Photo Mechanic's uploader to Gallery3 should work now, or does it need revising?

In the meantime, someone has written a Gallery3 uploader plugin for Lightroom and another person did one for iPhoto (which I tested successfully with my Gallery3 installation).

We don't have a Gallery3 installed on our server.  We cannot confirm if the current uploader template works with Gallery3 or not.

Thanks for letting me know. For what it is worth, on my Gallery3 server, PM gives me the following message when I try and set up the connection:

No.  Cataloging is our highest priority at this time and other work has to wait.
