I am trying to print a contact sheet from PM 4.6.6 in Win Vista 64.

How do I select a different printer? I have 2 printers connected to my computer (one via LPT1, a HP LaserJet; the other USB Epson R1900). I can't see where PM give me the option to change printers? It only lets me use the default printer.

Change your default printer.  Return to PM.  Hold down the Shift key and choose Page setup... from the File menu.  PM will now print with your new default printer.

Thanks, Kirk. That did the trick, but it isn't very intuitive. Any chance you could implement some sort of more "normal" printer selection and set-up option in a future version? Even if PM just automatically recognized the change in default printers? (or is that by design to keep PM going to a specific printer, no matter what?)

Dear Kirk,

will there be a printer-selection dialog in the future?
I use 3 different printer (laser, ink-jet, print to pdf).
It coast me a day to find out that I have to "Hold down the Shift key and choose Page setup... from the File menu..." to change the printer in PM. At least it would be very helpful if there is a hint in the manual.

An other question concerning contact sheets: will there be a possibility to change the fontsize (+ style?) of the headline. Longer text won´t fit in one line. The fontsize below the thumbnails automatically adapts the picture size.

I´m on Win Vista/7 with PM 4.6.6

Are you talking about printed contact sheets or the contact sheet window?

Sorry for misunderstanding - I meant the printed contact sheets.
I´m very satisfied with the "Export" (HTML) capabilities of PM and miss some features in the printed contact sheet dialog (e.g.: change font size/-style).

My plan is for the printing to become template-based like the exporters are so there would be a variety of ways to print images.  I don't know if the next major version of PM will have that feature implemented or not.

Do you mean with the capabilities that PM currently has, or with the possible ways a template-based print system could print?

A template-based print architecture could really do just about anything in regards to layout, amount and style of text, pagination, etc.  The template is basically a program.  We've got them already in the Uploader and Exporter features.

I'm having a problem switching printers. Win 7 64 bit, PM 4.5.3. I tried changing default printer, restarting PM and holding down shift key, but the printer stays the same. Tried rebooting also but no success.

Hold down the Shift key while bringing up the Page Setup dialog.  PM does not need to be restarted, nor should your system need rebooting.
