CS2 not launching from edit command

PM 4.4.3.2 work fine.  Upgraded to CS2. Had both PS7 and CS2 on system. PM would not accept the change that CS2 was now the choice for editing photos. Selected CS2 in preference, clicked 'apply' then OK. Shut down PM and re-stared system. PM continued to edit in PS7. Removed PS7 from the system. PM now doesn't know where to go when asked to edit photos. Just hangs there.

What OS are you running?

P.S. Please everyone post as much detail as you can about your system configuration, otherwise I will just have to ask you for the information which will make solving your issue take longer.
