Cannot install 4.6.7. without issues

I tried upgrading from .6 to .7
I uninstalled .6 first as recommended here to prevent duplicate entries in the add/ remove programs panel in Vista.
However when going to install .7 it says the program is already running.
There are no open windows, etc.
I shut down every service I could think of and finally got the app to install.
However, now when exiting the application, a message appears saying that the app didn't close properly and windows is looking for a solution.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

Please call our technical support folks during business hours (503) 547-2888 for an issue such as this.  They're experts at troubleshooting issues like yours.

Business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST.
