PM 4.5.4, Lion and upgrade policy
« on: December 14, 2011, 02:18:58 AM »
Hi guys
It has been a while since my last post here, but I was happy with my setup till now (MBP with Snow leopard and PM 4.5.4). Now I got new laptop, which means Lion is installed by default. After installing my old PM 4.5.4, everything looks fine, even though I noticed it's recommended to use latest version on Lion. Only problem I experienced until now (I admit I didn't use it in production yet) is PM crashing after pressing quit button. Are there any other known serious issues?
Considering (hopefully) soon coming version 5, I'm a bit reluctant of upgrading now (I also admit Camera Bits upgrade policy escaped my memory, so I wouldn't mind short refresh :)), especially if this crash on exit is only thing. If I upgrade now, does "one year of free updates" mean I'm entitled also to version 5, if it comes out in this year?
Thanks for help,
Primoz

Ingest should be slower.  The slide show will crash each time you try to use it.  The other issues are minor.

If you purchased the upgrade to version 4.6.x you would be entitled to a free upgrade to version 5.  You wouldn't get the cataloging version without additional cost however.

Thanks Kirk for this info, and as always fast reply :) If things are like this, I will rather play safely and upgrade now :)
