Uploader and Photoshelter

Is it possible to say if the PM uploader will still work with the coming revision of Photoshelter?

Tom,

No, it no longer works.  We don't have a fix for it yet either.

Oh, Kirk, I should have mentioned, PM is a popular piece of software with Photoshelter members to judge from the support forums there and quite a few of us do make use of the PM uploader in preference to their existing web based version.

We're not just going to let the support for PhotoShelter go away, but adjusting to their new API may take some time.

Meanwhile I think I will have to learn how to use their web based uploader. I confess I have never used it...I have always used PM to upload my photos to Photoshelter and I love it!

Photoshelter's web based uploader, will be a simple drag & drop.

Photoshelter's web based uploader, will be a simple drag & drop.

It certainly looks straightforward in the preview but we don't yet know how it handles errors or temporarily dropped connections and it certainly didn't appear to offer the full feature set of the PM uploader. We'll know more tomorrow.

The important thing for me is that I am able to send my edited pictures direct to my Photoshelter account. By the sounds of it I will now have to move my edited batch to another folder to  drag and drop. Any fix would be greatly appreciated.

This is the message I am getting  'Error: Hostname not known: ul.photoshelter.com' Although I have seen this same problem from other users in forum posts prior to the Photoshelter upgrade. If it isn't Photoshelter, does anybody from Camerabits have some advice please?

It is likely that your ISP's Domain Name Server isn't working properly at this time.  When it starts working again, you should be able to upload to PhotoShelter once again.

I did a few test uploads and it looks like two things a few things are happening and the file uploader is trying to compensate for the changes.  For example, I've noticed all my public galleries are now visible in the archive folder dropdown.

When I try to upload to one of these galleries, PM uploads it to that gallery, no problems.

If I click on "New archive folder" and try to send it to the newly created folder on PS.  It ends up in the pre 3-24-12 archive section of my account.
