Camera does not appear in source paths
« on: June 05, 2012, 02:49:01 PM »
I wonder if someone can help. I am in the field and forgot to bring my compact flash reader so will have to Ingest by connecting the camera. I have a Canon 1D Mark IV and when I connect it to my Mac via a good USB cable the camera does not show up in the source paths box. The Mac knows the camera is connected because PM starts automatically when I connect up. Can anyone help?

Thanks (in desperation!)
John

If there is some way to put the camera in 'USB Disk Mode' then PM should see it as a drive and will Ingest from it.  Otherwise you might try using Image Capture to download all of the data to a desired folder and then use PM to browse and process that folder.

On a Mac you can also use the Image Capture application to access your camera.
