GPS Altitude Randomly Changed by Photo Mechanic
« on: June 22, 2012, 07:43:54 AM »
I have a Barcode system that connects to my Nikon Cameras which puts the barcode data into the GPS Altitude Field. The system works flawlessly, however when I go to read the barcode data in Photo Mechanic it changes the picture by a couple of digits, it shows it in the Altitude field but off by 1-15 digits so 610560002 becomes 610560004 etc. I can check the same picture in Photoshop (with GPS plugin) and with EXIF Tools and it still says 610560002 in the altitude field. Is there a box I am not ticking?

FYI, I use the GPS data to then rename the title of the pictures, which Photo Mechanic now screws up, and I have to use EXIF Tools to accomplish the task.

Is this a common issue? Has anyone had Photo Mechanic alter data? Any help would be appreciated.

I am running Photomechanic 4.6.8 and OSX 10.7.4.

Thank you!

Until now we were not aware of this issue.  Can you upload a sample image that has this barcode data in the GPS altitude?

Thanks,
