PM5 and Save As...
« on: July 07, 2012, 04:11:45 AM »
Save As... generates an error message, please see attached ScreenShot1. When I then click OK, PM5 freezes (see ScreenShot2) and must be killed with Task Manager.

Windows 7 Pro SP1

Hi Karl!

The error means that you have set a watermarking-image in the preferences. This png-file was not found.
Copy the file back to the location stated in the dialog and you can save your files then.
You also can open the watermarking dialog then and disable the "Draw Image Logo" option.

Hi Sven!

Thanks for the reply. I cannot find the file 'Signature, -white.png' on my system.  'Watermark' is not even selected in the 'Save As' dialog, so there is no reason why PM5 would bother about that file when the 'Save As' window is opened. PM 4.6.9 does not care.

Karl

Hi Karl!

I cannot find the file 'Signature, -white.png' on my system.

That's the reason for the error... Create a file named like the mission one and all is fine.

'Watermark' is not even selected in the 'Save As' dialog, so there is no reason why PM5 would bother about that file when the 'Save As' window is opened.

True. BUT you have a the setting to apply an image watermark active in that dialog. and the png file is missing. That's the reason for the error.

PM 4.6.9 does not care.

That's true again. This is a new feature in PM 5 to avoid sending / uploading images that should contain a watermark. Due to the missing watermark image they got sent without being watermarked. Therefore it is checked.

Hi Sven,

I had imported PM 4.6.9 preferences into PM 5.0. Problem fixed by unchecking "Draw image logo' box in PM 4.6.9, and then reimporting 4.6.9 preferences into PM 5.0.

Hi Karl!
That's good news.
Alternatively just create the file in the location shown.

Hi Sven,

But in my case that location does not exist any more. I think it was a left-over from my Win XP days. I now use Win 7.
