PM5 beta3: orientation of images incorrect
« on: July 15, 2012, 08:17:39 AM »
Out of the camera, my D200 NEFs are displaying in the correct orientation: portrait orientation shots show up in portrait orientation.

I then apply a batch to these images in Capture NX2.

Back in PM5b3, the portrait shots are suddenly showing in landscape orientation, with a little rotation symbol to the top left of each thumbnail.  Same in Preview for these images.

In PM4, these images show in the correct orientation, both before and after editing in NX2.

I have the same problem, the photos are ingested in the correct orientation but after editing the photos in CaptureNX2  the portrait photos are now rotated to landscape for NEF's, this didn't happen in previous versions of PM

This will be fixed in the next build.  We did a last-minute change to try and preserve rotations for photos saved by some applications that are lacking a TIFF rotation tag and apparently this rotation (in XMP) is "sticking" a little too "hard".  So we will undo this addition of the rotation in XMP.
