PM5 structured keywords crash
« on: July 10, 2012, 10:31:33 PM »
Hi,

when I'm trying to find a keyword (using the "find" button) in the structured keywords dialog, PM crashes.
Any solutions yet?

No, what OS are you running?

Everyone, please post as much details about your system when posting a problem.

Thanks,

Hi Kirk!

It works well for me in the public Beta 2 on OS X 10.7.4

Hi,

sorry, I missed that part: OS is Mac OSX 10.7.4, I already sent a bug report, as this behavior was unknown to me in version 4.9.x
more problems are:
- when I use the tab-key to go to the "find" button, the border of this button is not highlighted, at least when I reach the list, the border of this window is highlighted.
- I cannot move the scroll-button in the window with the keywords as long as I didn't activate one item of the list and use the arrow keys to go down, then the scroll button seems to be "unlocked" and is moveable.
- there are some items, I can reach by using the "find"-button, and there are many, which let the application crash. There is no "system" recognizable behind this behavior ...

And what I miss, when the find-action works, is this result window, Sven shows in his screenshot.
Well, just going to try Beta2, may be this will fix it ....

Edit: No, it doesn't ...

Hi!

I am running Beta 2 on OS X 10.7.4

What keyword are you searching for that brings PM to crash?

- when I use the tab-key to go to the "find" button, the border of this button is not highlighted, at least when I reach the list, the border of this window is highlighted.

Just simply press ENTER after typing in the search string. That will do the same as pressing the buttion

Hi,

it can crash with very word, there is no system ... e.g. "familie" but not with "flora" but then again with "Architektur" ...
to hit ENTER doesn't solve the issue, PM crashes ...

Sven, I did the same "goose" search as you and had a crash in 10.7.4.  Don't understand what could be different.  On earlier crashes I sent in a bug report and a crash log to Kirk, so this is nothing new for me.  I had not focused before on this thread that shows Sven with the same OS does not get a crash but I do.

I tried now nearly every combination ob checkboxes and options within this dialog.
I don't get PM to crash.

I used the identical dialog checks and options as in your screenshot and I even have the same V2 edition of the CVKB as you and mine crashes every time.  Obviously some personal problem on my side.

No, it's random and fortunately the next beta will have a fix.

Give Public Beta 3 a try.  It shouldn't have this problem anymore.

Hi,

problem solved with build 12883, and by the way: the UI of the dialog for stationary pad is real fine now.
