Crop with "Send photo via email"?

I applied a crop before choosing "Send photo via email", but the image is not cropped in the email. I can't find any documentation about whether crops are, or are not, applied when processing for email. Should this work?

I first tried it with an image that was both Raw (.ARW) + Jpeg, but I tried it with a straight Jpeg and it didn't work then either.

I have the image set to 800 px, which is much smaller than a full size cropped image would be.

Crops should be applied if you have selected the "Apply crop" check-box in the "Send Photos via email" dialogue.
