Does PhotoMechanic Benefit from Having a Scratch Drive on Computer

The iMac I'm about to order has to be configured for the PP image work I'll do.

Does PM need a separate or partitioned drive as a Scratch Drive? How big a drive of partition would you advise?

You could put PM's disk cache on a separate drive if you like but it isn't necessary nor does the space available need to be large.  Most people use the defaults and PM works just fine.
