No destination set
« on: March 19, 2013, 05:49:25 AM »
I have a small issue. Or two.
I ingest my files to an external drive, but I have to set the destination every time I ingest. Do I have to ingest to the internal drive?
Also , when transmitting I get an error message and have to click on the retry symbol.

And I noticed that only one of the progress bars is active during transmission.
PM  build 13764 (7b2b451), MBPr 2,3/16/256 OSX 10.8.3

could it be that the FTP-Server allows only one connection per user at a time?
I have seen some agencies that limit the uploads to one session only.

After 5 years of absence I restarted the photography.

Is your destination mounted at the time that the Ingest dialog opens?
Are you able to change other preferences settings and have them restored the next time you launch PM5?

Also , when transmitting I get an error message and have to click on the retry symbol.

Looking into it.

And I noticed that only one of the progress bars is active during transmission.

Do you have your Upload preferences set to allow multiple uploads?  (See the Preferences button in the main Upload dialog.)

Well, I thought I did plug it in before the card reader, can you make anything out of the  console messages?
I can change other preferences.

Yes it is set to allow concurrent uploads.
I shall ask Scanpix if they have changed their ftp setup.

I only see a message about a Seagate kernel extension failing to load (it's not compatible with your OS since it was made for Mac OS X 10.4) and really nothing else pertinent is in the log.

Kirk,

Oh, I thought that maybe the Lacie disk used a Seagate drive, don't know what the extension is doing .
Anyway, the Seagate message appears when I connect the Lacie, so I believe I connected it before the cf card.
So I probably was a bit late connecting the USB drive, can't remember everything in a snowstorm in your car  :P

Oops, really my fault ( as usual) :-X
identified the Lacie drive on its USB serial and noticed
20130319 08.09.53,000 kernel[0]: USBMSC Identifier (non-unique): 00000000058c142500d7 0x59f 0x1057 0x0

and

20130319 08.09.50,026 fseventsd[34]: log dir: /Volumes/NIKON D3S/.fseventsd getting new uuid: 4699D0A5-60C4-4758-8F53-EA737D29620A

So I was 3 seconds late mounting the ext. disk. Sorry .

No problem.  Still looking into your FTP issues.  I'll get back to you later today.

Can you send me your PM.log file (by email, please) and do compress it first (right click on PM.log and choose Compress from the contextual menu)

Thanks,
