I would really appreciate if you help with this...

Select the photos that need adjusting and then use the Adjust Capture Dates and Times command on the Tools menu.

That's great - I've been using this tool for years and had never realised how the absolute function worked and had been fiddling about with the relative settings!  Maybe I should RTFM myself...
