Downloadable User Manual for V 5
« on: May 20, 2013, 04:54:54 PM »
Just purchased V5 for Mac 10.7.5 but can't find a downloadable user manual.  Have all may camera and software users manuals in one folder on my laptop so I can use them when I'm offline, etc.  Am I missing the download link?

No.  There isn't a downloadable manual at this time.  It can be accessed online here:

You could certainly try creating a web archive of it if you like.  Safari, Firefox, and Chrome all have the ability to save the entire page (including graphics and other necessary files) to your computer.

That's not in my skill set.  Most software companies and product manufacturers have downloadable users manuals these days.

Everyone is welcome to download the snapshot of the manual that I created for Mark.  But it is a "snapshot" of the manual and will not reflect the latest version of the manual.

Creating one is as simple as browsing the wiki manual, and choosing "Save Page As..." or "Save As..." from the File menu in your browser and choosing the Format option "Web page, complete" which will save the HTML and a sub-folder containing all of the images used on the page.

It's a useful thing to know and comes in handy whenever you want to browse a page offline.

Later we will likely provide a PDF version of the manual, but it too will likely lag behind the wiki manual in being the most current.

Thanks Kirk.  While it's may not always be the absolute latest, it's good to have in your computer so you can check it quick during a game or on the plane.  Dated PDF downloads would be a good idea.  Old eyes need to be able to blow up the guide.

Most web browsers offer the ability to increase the size of the text.  Command-+ on Mac browsers increases the font size.

And CTRL-+ in Windows.

How often is the Wiki significantly changed?  If one were to "create their own manual" this way, to keep it reasonably up to date should it be recreated weekly, monthly, quarterly?

There is no defined schedule.  When we add features or change UI elements, the manual will be updated shortly afterwards.  But there is not going to be anything major that will change in PM5's functionality prior to the next major version of PM.  The changes in the manual should be slight.
