Capture Time changes from Nef to Jpg
« on: August 24, 2013, 11:43:52 AM »
I ingest nefs, with IPTC set to show Capture Time.  I can sort these all by Capture Time, no problem.

I then create jogs from the nefs, using PhotoNinja and finishing/converting to jpg in Photoshop CS6.  These jpgs sit in a separate file form the file containing the nets.

When I open the jpg file in PM5 and sort by Capture Time, sometimes I get a different order, not the Capture Time of the original shot.  But the IPTC still shows time and date as the original Capture Time.

Any suggestions?

A JPEG generated from another image technically isn't a capture from a camera.  If the image doesn't have an exif capture date tag then PM can't tell when it was taken.

Thanks, I think I have found the problem, I think I adjusted the Capture Time for one of the nets after I had made the jpeg, so the jpeg did not pick up the adjustment.  I have now adjusted the Capture Time for the jpeg (I appreciate that this is the Capture Time of the net, not the creation of the jpeg) and sort by Capture Time works properly.
