Keyboard shortcut for Code Replacement's "Reload All"
« on: November 01, 2013, 09:35:30 AM »
Hey Kirk,

I'd love a way to assign a keyboard shortcut to the "Reload All" button in the Code Replacement dialog. Or a way to get a button that performs the function on the toolbar. This way I could quickly do so without having to open the Code Replacement dialog.

Often times with high school football I generate my code replacements on the fly while captioning on deadline (since there isn't a way to get the roster ahead of time). My thinking is that if I have to type the kid's name once, I might as well do so in my code replacement text file rather than the IPTC pad, in case I have another photo of him down the line.

It works well but having to reopen the Code Replacement dialog to reload my text file is the main thing that slows me down.

Thanks!

Yes, I like the idea too, as it would be a huge time saver.

Awesome, thanks for such a fast response as always Kirk!

I do have one question about the modifiers used. It seems like Option/Alt would be much easier to hit than Shift. Any thoughts or am I just thinking crazy here?

The Option key on the Mac is used quite often to skip the UI of various dialogs like rename, save as, etc.  So we generally never make it a part of a keyboard shortcut listed in the menus.
