multiple time stamp tags in xmp
« on: December 20, 2013, 07:13:39 AM »
From what I can see the photoshop:DateCreated= tag is the only time stamp tag in xml that Photo Mechanic creates/changes/maintains.

If there are other time stamp tags like

exif:DateTimeDigitized
exif:DateTimeOriginal
xmp:CreateDate
xmp:ModifyDate

PM will not touch them but for instance Adobe Bridge seems to read them. With multiple time stamp tags it can quickly get messy if they are not synchronized and everybody (the software manufacturers) has their own way of doing it. The tags mention above for instance come from a geotagging application (gps4cam) that has the generally awesome feature of correcting shoot time while geotagging the images.

Is there a way that Photo Mechanic could embrace more tags when changing date and time? Are there some rather "official" timestamp tags that make sense to be supported and others that are more proprietary that we software developers should not use?

Thank you for looking into this!
