Yea, those FW800 card readers... you can't get those now.  Sadly, I got caught in no-man's land with my 2012 MBP purchase.  No USB3, 1 FW800, no FW800 readers available....

What about this one!? Available and affordable. I'm using it myself and I'm very pleased.

I had forgotten about that one.  It was only available from Canada (in North America) last I looked.  Thanks for jogging my memory on that.

I might be missing something here, but why not do an ingest of "locked" images first and when that finishes for that card and you are captioning, straightening, etc., begin a second ingest of that card again to get the rest of the non-locked images...possible into a separate folder that you can merge later. So you can find the images before/after the tagged ones that might be a bit better.

If you are in a hurry, and you make that impression, Amazon have the Delock FireWire card reader in stock. MemoryDepot doesn't.
