Adding Folder to Navigator

Hi Group....

Quick question. I need to add a folder to my Navigator in PhotoMechanic. (Not the favorites). I don't remember how...or if I even can. It looks like the Navigator is picking up the folder structure from the finder. But it is not picking up the "My Photos 2014" folder. Please see the attached screen grab.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi Eric!

Is "My Photos 2014" a networked share or an external drive? Is the external drive or the share connected?

Eric,

Try right-clicking in the Navigator and choosing Preferences... from the contextual menu that appears.  Then turn off Show Finder Sidebar items in Navigator.  OK the dialog, quit PM.  Launch PM again.  Turn on the setting again.  Restart PM.  Hopefully the additional items will appear now.

Thank you for your reply, however, your method of deselecting and re-selecting the "Show Finder Sidebar Items" did not work. It still does not show the folder I recently added to the sidebar, My Photos 2014. Any other ideas?

FYI, I am using Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 15077 (39d4ee2), Mac OS 10.9.1.

Did your system always have Mac OS X 10.9 on it, or did you upgrade?

Hi Kirk,

My computer has not always had 10.9 on it, but it's been a few months since I upgraded.

So, I have downloaded an update(s) of PM more recently than I have my OS.

Does that help?

It looks like Apple has yet again changed the format of their data for the Finder Sidebar.  I'll have to reverse-engineer their data and update PM in order to fix this issue.
