Upload Page hangs
« on: January 28, 2014, 08:18:39 PM »
We've started getting an issue where on our internal network some machines (they run Windows 7) will hang when selecting upload. the window doesn't even load, and the app crashes causing a re-start.

When we use an external datacard connection it works without a problem.

Does the upload page go looking on the internet for anything when you go to open it?

I can't seem to see what is causing it to freeze

It depends on the template.  Some of them almost immediately open a connection with the service to get information about the hierarchy on the account.

But other than that I'd need more information.  See this guide for what I need in general to help with problems: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=4688.0

Thanks,

The machines are running Windows 7 64bit enterprise the version of Photo Mechanic is 5 b13915.

It's only doing it on some machines and even when i remove our template we still get the problem, Photo Mechanic hangs then crashes. We are running some other tests butr wanted to see what happens when the upload page tries to optm

You have your own custom uploader template?  Are there any messages related to the problem in your system's PM.log file?

Yes, we have our own but removed it for testing and we had the same issue. Worked fine on a 3G/4G connection, but crashed internally on wiFi and LAN, regardless of the template being there or not (which is just a customised FTP page to remove options and create some presets)
