Oliver,

Thanks Bob, I will try it the way you suggested.

But doesn't this mean that no IPTC info will be written directly into my NEF file like it used to do? Since I sometimes still have to use Nikon's software I'd prefer to write the basic infos into the file. Will a future update correct this back to the old behaviour?

Do not make the change Bob suggested.  We don't intend for you to have to change your preferences to solve this problem.  We will be releasing a new build (likely today) that will solve this problem, no matter what your preferences are.

We should have a new fixed build posted soon.  When you try the next PM 5 build, you should be able to go back to your old IPTC/XMP preference settings to embed the IPTC and XMP metadata.

We have a new build that addresses this problem.  Please download the build for your platform and let us know if it solves the problems you've experienced.  You should not need to change your Photo Mechanic preferences in any way.

Mac:

http://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanic5R15430.dmg

Windows:

http://www.camerabits.com/download/PM5SetupR15430.exe

Thanks!

Thanks Kirk . . .

I had the same problem when I ingested D3s images directly from the camera. I’ll try the update later and hopefully it will solve the problem.

Hmm, mine still aren't auto rotating, even with the new build.  Does this auto rotate need to happen on ingest?  Because folders of images from before I updated to the new version *are* auto rotated.  And I checked the camera settings... still set to auto rotate.

For images that were ingested by build 15419, you'll have to manually rotate them by clicking on one of the rotation buttons (or use one of the bulk rotation commands.)

I see that build 15419 is still pinned at the top of the announcements section.

Should one start with it? Or just download 15430? Or wait a while before updating from 15277?

Just download 15430 for now.  A final build will be available later this week.
