Another nooby question that's probably been asked a 1000 times before.

I am about to start using PM in my workflow. One of my clients insists on supplying me  a JPEG  file with the metadata he requires to see back on his images. All he requires me to do is update the player name etc in the caption on each image I supply.

I am currently using Lightroom, and this is quite easy to do as all I do is import his file together with my photographs and then synch his metadata across all images. I then update the player data on the selected images .

The question is how would I do this in PM and am I able to synch across all images on ingesting.

Open the IPTC Info for the supplied JPEG (click the 'i' button on the thumbnail).  Click the Save button and save the current metadata as an XMP file.  Close the IPTC Info dialog.  Open the Ingest dialog.

Set Ingest to apply the IPTC Stationery Pad.

Click on the IPTC Stationery Pad button.  Load the XMP file you just saved.

Ingest your images.
