Where are stars (ratings) saved in metadata for JPEGs?
« on: November 04, 2014, 11:49:47 AM »
I am trying to apply ratings (which are seen as stars in PM) to lots of images (in the thousands) using ExifTool. I am having issues with these ratings, once they're applied, showing up in the latest version of PM. The previous version (4.xx) will show these ratings (as well as Adobe Bridge, Windows, etc), version 5 doesn't. If anyone could tell me which metadata field in a JPEG affects the rating within PM, I would really appreciate it. I've tried changing the IFD0:Rating, which doesn't show up in PM. I've also tried another proprietary tag which I don't have in front of me right now, which also didn't affect anything. Thanks.

Check your IPTC/XMP preferences. If you read XMP before IPTC, just make sure you update the XMP rating tag in exiftool as well!

Hope this helps,
