Exporting PM metadata to museum catalog
« on: December 16, 2014, 03:23:49 PM »
I am doing work for a museum client, that, of course, has an extensive catalog database.
Do you have any suggestions about how the IPTC/XMP data can be exported so that at least some of the fields can be imported for the museum catalog?  It looks like PM can export in XML but are there any database friendly formats possible?
Any other suggestions about how this might be done.
(It's a small museum and their tech people are checking about XML import, but that may not be an option)

thanks

Hi Robin!
If you go to "File => Export" and then select the "Text exporter" you can use all the variables inside PM to create a text file separated by any character you need.
The comma or tab separated file can then be imported into nearly any spreadsheet or database.
