I have used PM and Nikon NX2 to do the above in the past but since Nikon abandoned development of NX2, I have searched for the best derawtizer to replace NX2 and convert my nef files.

I have tried LR but I cannot get used to it and do not like the Raw conversion it produces.
I have properly set up PM to work with LR via the use of XMP sidecar files and experience no issues with color or star ratings between LR and PM.

Now, what are the best settings in PM to ensure the smoothest or a seamless operation with Capture One Pro, assuming I will be using the same color coding and star rating?

I intend to use Sessions in C1 Pro to process the culled nef files in dated folders created at ingest. Can
Anybody recommend settings? Is there anything I need to define in C1 Pro?
I wish to open edit from within PM.
Thanks for advising.

I worked with NX2 and PM, now with PM and C1-Pro (only with sessions)

1) I get my pictures with PM (NEF) and sort them ; perhaps I put keywords.

2) I work my nef with C1. When the select NEF are ready, I put IPTC on them

3) With "charger les métalonnées" I obtain  PM IPTC

4) now I make JPG

Sorry for my bad langage !
(I use LR5 for database of my jpg)

Thanks for your input.

About step 3 (load metadata): is this a function that you apply manually in C1 or is it a setting?

If you want to explain the process in French, I will translate it to English for the forum users.

I prefer PM for metadata. C1 has an option for loading metadata (when you want them, before or after outputs) and replace its own.
I don't still have presets.

Does C1P import/read the keywords you added in PM?
