"Dragging" files into Lightroom. Only 1 file showing...????

I recently unknowingly upgraded to LR 5.5 or something and now when I try to drag selected/tagged files into LR only one file will transfer.....  Any suggestions?    Same thing happens if I right click and select edit files with LR......

When LR opens, only the one image that I right clicked or used to drag into LR remains as "checked".....rrrrrrr....

I"m guessing there must be a default in LR that was changed upon the upgrade...

Does the same thing happen if you eliminate Photo Mechanic entirely and drag and drop from your OS window (Finder/Windows Explorer)?  If so, you might try the Adobe forums and see if others have found a solution.
