Removing Duplicate Keywords

Hi Kirk,

Is there a way to remove duplicate keywords from images? Similar to 'Structured Keywords Panel' in reverse? Thought I would ask just in case. Many Thanks.

EXAMPLE: Apple, Orange, Orange, Orange, Apple, Orange, (No pattern).

Re-saving each photo from the IPTC Info dialog should remove the duplicates.

Thank you Kirk. Works (one at a time)….  Is there a way to automate (batch process) that?

This is the situation:

1) I'm using FIND + REPLACE on a folder containing thousands of images to remove the keyword PEAR from all of them.

2) When the task is complete, the message says "Replaced 2000 occurrences in 379 photos."

ADD: In case you are wondering, 'how can that be possible' (Multiple uses of Pear), the reason is: Pear, Green Pear, Pears,

Therefore, the software may be working perfectly.

You could try using the IPTC Stationery Pad and clear some unused field.

I think that may work.  I expect that the unique keyword code will kick in, even though you wouldn't be using the IPTC Stationery Pad to modify the Keywords field directly.
