Star Rating Support
« on: June 04, 2015, 10:35:12 AM »
Hello: Two question about the Star settings when opening a PM
1. When I open a file in PM not all the stars are clicked only 1, 4 and 5
How do I set so all stars are displayed on start up.
See attached.

2. I edited by assigning stars.
Then I click and open in PS then save corrections but the photo corrected no longer has a star.
How do I keep the star rating on the corrected photo?

Thanks in advance.

Bill

To set a default, set the Widget to display the Rating that you want, and right-click on the Widget and select Set as Default. Later you can reset the Widget to the new default by right-clicking and choosing Restore to Default.

2. I edited by assigning stars.
Then I click and open in PS then save corrections but the photo corrected no longer has a star.
How do I keep the star rating on the corrected photo?

How do you save the corrected photo?  Is other metadata like caption information also lost?

Hello: No the caption remains the same it just loses the star rating.
For example if I have ten 5 star photos in a folder and two need editing
I open the two in PS via PM
When they are saved to the folder they have lost there 5 star and are now no star.
Thanks for your help.

What is the format of the original images and what is the format of the image that is produced?

Can you share the image that is produced from PS?

Hello.

I have the same problem.

PM User Manual says:

< The Star Ratings work immediately between apps as long as, in Preferences/Files, this option is set:

Add tag, color class, and rating to ITPC/XMP: For All Photos >

Where can I find this setting ?

Thank you

Oryk,

I have the same problem.

PM User Manual says:

< The Star Ratings work immediately between apps as long as, in Preferences/Files, this option is set:

Add tag, color class, and rating to ITPC/XMP: For All Photos >

Where can I find this setting ?

It was removed in PM5.  It is no longer an option.  Tag, Color Class, and Rating is always written to IPTC/XMP in PM5.

The manual will be updated to remove the mention of that setting.
