PM freezes and I must force quit
« on: July 07, 2015, 02:14:50 AM »
Greetings

Everything was working perfectly - for a long time.  Then suddenly PM stopped working.

The images can be viewed within the viewer, but when I click the information icon to call out the metadata prompt with the mouse, the program freezes completely.  The only way to reset PM is to use force quit.  I have restarted the machine several times without effect.  I even downloaded the latest version and the same thing happens.

How can I rectify this issue ?

V5 build 16438
MAC 10.6.8.

Thanks,   WilloW

Thank you Kirk.  I have done this, however, it did not solve the issue.

Whenever I select the information icon the program freezes and the only way to start again is to force quit.

Any other ideas ?

I stress that nothing was done to the computer or PM - the problem just occurred.

Thank You,  WilloW

To be clear, you're bringing up the IPTC Info dialog, right?  Have you customized it?

Hi Kirk

I can open IPTC stationary pad from the menu title and edit as per normal.  The problem lies when I press the i key from the images displayed in the view format (PM freezes).  It seems the issue has something to do with the i icon located in the lower left hand corner of the image thumbnails

Yes I have saved IPTC entries which are automatically populated.

Thank you for your time and support - it is appreciated,   WilloW

Does it work if you do this: 1) select a photo with the mouse. 2) press the 'i' key on your keyboard

Does it hang then?
Does it matter if you choose a different image in a different folder and then press the 'i' key on your keyboard--does it still hang?

Hello Kirk

The same result occurs if use the mouse or the keyboard.  It does not matter what sequence I open photographs in or in what folders.  The result is that PM freezes when I attempt to open the IPTC box using the 'i' command or the 'i' icon from the image view screen.

I have checked several other features and functions  and everything else seems to work OK.   WilloW

At this point I suggest contacting support@camerabits.com and they'll troubleshoot this issue with you.
