Unsharp DNG / Low Resolution
« on: June 29, 2019, 02:05:09 AM »
I have two types of images in my catalog, DNG and RAF (Fuji-X). When editing the images in PM6+ only the RAF are sharp with high resolution, DNG are unsharp/blurry. In other apps like Capture One or Exposure X4 they are as sharp as expected.

Sounds like your dng files only contain a small preview. When creating/updating DNG files, make sure to set the preview size to full size.

Thank you Hayo, but why are the same DNG looking right in C1 and Exposure X4? I think they also use the embedding Preview ... oh, maybe not? I think C1 is rendering, but X4 ... maybe too.
I check this out ;-)

In Finder images look ok but the View in PM6+ is definitely blurry (i attached a screenshot). There are much more details in the "Finder-View" of my sample image.

Sure, Finder/Preview also renders the raw DNG data and doesn't use the embedded JPG. Hence the difference.

As said, to solve this for PM you need to have a full size preview inside the DNGs. This you need to specify in the software you use for creating DNGs as well as all the software that you use for editing!

Oh, ok thanks again :-) DidnĀ“t know that Preview renders. Previous shootings i saved as DNG but from now on i will only use raws of my Fuji. In this days disc space is no problem.
I used Iridient X-Transformer for this period.

That being said PM6+ is a great piece of software and the catalog function is as fast as the PM6-Browser :-)

Didn't have any problem understanding what you meant (at least I don't think so ;)). And while I speak German quite OK (more than good enough for standard conversations), I still find writing German quite hard to do properly. So I can't blame you if your English isn't perfect :D

Cheers,
Hayo

Your English is excellent (I thought you were a native English speaker) so you have nothing to worry about. (Most Americans don't write English as well as you do.)
