Can I avoid duplicate ingests?
« on: January 07, 2008, 09:23:03 AM »

If I ingest 10 images from a chip, do not erase it, put it back in the camera and take 10 more pictures and then ingest from the chip I will get the first 10 (duplicated) and the second 10.  Can I avoid the duplication.  In Picasa2 there is a box to check to avoid duplicate downloads.  I am not a power user and still use V.4.2.1.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
Richard

In newer versions of Photo Mechanic, there is a checkbox in the Ingest dialog titled "Incremental Ingest" which does exactly what you want.

Time to upgrade?  There are literally dozens and dozens of new features in version 4.5 since the version 4.2 series.  I'm sure you'll find it to be a good value.
