Tagging and Color Rate Will Not Work

I searched for this and found no answer, but I apologize if this is a repeat. I am a full time pro and have recently switched to this app from LR. When I tag or rate by color some of the images will not respond to my input and some will. They are a mix of psd, jpg, and tif. I am also getting some images as "unable to render". I have a 6 core AMD, 16 MB RAM, 1TB SSD, Win10 os. Any suggestions would be grateful.
