Clear recent items from PM dock icon

I'm using PM 5.0 build 17719 on Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

How do I clear recent items from the pop-up list when I right click the PM icon in my Finder Dock?
I tried doing so from within PM by going to File>Open Recent>Clear Menu and although this removes the list within the program, they remain in the Dock pop-up even after quitting the program.

Please don't tell me the only way to do this is to log out of my user account and back in again?!?

I don't know.  That menu is not managed by PM.
