PM Crashing
« on: February 22, 2017, 01:37:31 PM »
Pm5 18040

Win 10 Pro

I have been using code replacement to help with Special Olympics using the bib numbers (paced in the caption field).
Everything worked fine.

However sometime the athlete removes the bib.  Often for the medal ceremonies.

I made a custom sort order for the caption field.  I go back and forth between caption and capture time to try and find the athlete with a bib.  Everything has been working fine for a week.

Today when switching to caption sort, PM crashes.

The cache empties upon the forced exit.
I restarted the computer.
I re installed PM.

Still have the problem.

Thanks Kirk.

I Just figured it out. The problem didn't occur with a copy of the folder or other folders.

I started to go thru the "bad" folder a few images at a time.  The problem occurred with just one image,  I moved it to its own folder.
The folder worked fine with the remaining images.  I got a copy from the backup so nothing was lost.

I make a copy of the folders at each stage of the workflow.

There is probably something corrupt with the xmp file.

I play a little bit tomorrow to see if I can find the reason.

Again thanks for the best support in tech land.

If you find the image (and associated files like XMP sidecars or WAV files) that causes PM to crash, we'd be interested in having access to those files so we can make PM more robust.

Thanks,
