Copying files where a new directory has to be made
« on: July 17, 2017, 08:23:56 AM »
Just an observation but with the new update copying files where PM has to make a new directory takes FOREVER and even results in Photomechanic not responding errors. If I wait it out it eventually will make the directory and copy or move the files.

Interesting.  Nothing was changed in regards to how directories are created.

Has anything else about your system changed recently?

Do you have the Navigator visible and with a large expanded tree of drives/folders?

I expect that the Navigator is reacting to the folder being created and that refreshing the expanded folder tree is taking a long time.  Network drives are particularly slow at retrieving directory information.

I will close it and try it out for a few days and report back. There are 3 network volumes attached with 48TB of data not counting the local drives.... so you may be on to something.

Closing the navigator solved the problem!
