Check for dublicates during ingest
« on: September 14, 2017, 11:43:30 AM »
I am trying to find some information if (and if yes: how) Photo Mechanic is preventing duplicate files on ingestion.
If I try to ingest the same folder / stick / camera memory more than once, are duplicates prevented ?
If yes: how are identical images identified ? Checksum ? Filename ?

Some information about it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Manfred

PM does not check for duplicates on Ingest.  If you use Incremental Ingest, files that have been copied previously will be ignored on additional Ingests.  If you do not use Incremental Ingest then Ingest will always copy all of the images to the destination that you have chosen.

Manfred,

What is it that you're trying to achieve?
