Entering "Comment" Value on a Canon 1D MkIV
« on: November 15, 2017, 07:02:16 PM »
Nikon has a way to enter a "comment" value in the back of the camera and have it stored in EXIF so I can read it off the image once I download it by referencing {comment}. I have to assume that Canon offers that same feature. How do I find that capability on a 1D MkIV? I've tried reading the manual for "caption", "comment", and "annotate", but no joy. Sports guys had to use this feature before voice memo recording was added to bodies.  Trying to help a friend with workflow and can't figure out how Canon does this.

Here is a link to the manual:

I haven't read it.  Good luck.

Thanks Kirk. I downloaded it and read through it earlier. No joy. That's when I started to ask in various forums. Hopefully a Canon shoot can point me in the right direction.
