P/M 6 to Nikon Studio
« on: October 10, 2024, 09:03:49 PM »
I need advice again. I am using P/M 6 and for a long time when I had my Raw Nikon images in the contact page I would use E to open up the raw image in Nikon Studio from my 2 external hard drives. I cannot do that anymore. I can open up tiffs and jpegs only. Can someone tell me what to do to solve the problem? Thanks

I am using p/m6 build 7212 and Nikon Studio 1.7.0 64 bit

Have a look at:

https://docs.camerabits.com/support/solutions/articles/48001145596-launching-preferences

Specifically, the section titled: "Assign Specific Application to File Type"

You should be able to assign your editing application for NEF files there.

Thanks for replying Kirk. I have that feature set up and when I change it to Affinity or Raw Power, raw images from both hard drives open up. I can open up new raw  images that are in Ingest which is in Favourites into Nikon studio without any problem. I will have to assume something is wrong with Nikon studio.

Does drag and drop from PM to Nikon studio make Nikon studio open the dropped files (on your external drives)?

No that doesn't work. I found out what is happening, when I hit command E to open up an image Nikon Studio brings the whole hard drive into Folders on the left hand side. There are over 40 folders and thousands of images on the hard drive and I get the spinning beach ball for about 15 seconds until it is done. Once completed I can open up any image from any folder instantly to work on. This must have been changed during one of their upgrades.

Once again thanks Kirk for trying to solve my problem.
